Korean food promotion at Seoul Garden

KUCHING: Have a memorable dining experience of Korean food at Seoul Garden restaurant where prices are reasonable and the setting comfortable.

The restaurant, located at Central Park Commercial Centre (behind Astro Building) is now promoting several dishes namely Korean-style pork leg, shabu shabu beef, pork and seafood, pajeon green onion pancake and kimchi pancake.

It opens from 10am to 2.30pm and from 5pm to 10pm daily.

The shabu shabu beef, pork or seafood, depending on customer’s choice, is something like steamboat where patrons can enjoy their meal hot and fresh.

Steven Lee said the pajeon green onion pancake, made of egg, wheat and rice flour batter pan, is fried with green onions, chives, prawn and squid, oyster and many other ingredients.

Full-line grocery store opens south of city

Super S Foods will be opening a full-line grocery store here in May across from Jim Ned High School.

“I’m thrilled,” said Wanda Cleveland of Tuscola. “Now we’ll have a place to go to buy whatever we need besides milk and bread. We desperately need it.”

There are two convenience stores in Tuscola, one of which also serves fast food. In nearby Lawn and Buffalo Gap, there are small grocery stores that also sell gas. But the nearest full-scale grocery stores are in Abilene, about 15 miles north.

Many residents of south Taylor County have been wanting a big grocery store nearby since the mid-1990s, when Village Market was in business at the location where the new store will be. Climbing gas and diesel prices have made a grocery store an anxious desire.

When word got out that the 10,382 square-foot Village Market building was vacated by a local church and was for sale, the officers of the Jim Ned Valley Chamber of Commerce got busy.
